Some go to VMworld just for “networking”, but besides expanding your network you can gather a lot of knowledge during your stay. If you're addicted to virtualization.info like me you'll have seen the announcement by Alessandro Perilli that the industry's first vendor neutral virtualization conference, Virtualization Congress 2009, will be hosted virtualization.info in Las Vegas at the same time as Citrix Synergy 2009 - May 4-8 2009.

"The Dawn of Wireless Virtualization," a seminar on bringing the business advantages of virtualization to mission-critical networks, will be presented by Meru Networks on Dec. 17. The seminar will show how wireless virtualization can help enterprises across all industries optimize their network resources, ensure predictable network behavior, and gain needed control over users and costs.

VMware recently held an event in Boston called Virtualization Forum 2008. I would estimate attendance at 400-600, in that range. My only gripe is that the company seems to have a penchant for piping in high-decibel hard rock music just before the first morning session (the same thing happened at VMworld before the Maritz keynote, some of you may recall). While I’m a avid rock fan, I would prefer to just sit there in a quiet coffee-sipping lump at that time of day. But hey that’s just me….
