VDIworks2Go to Capitalize Virtual Desktop Use
November 24th, 2008 |
VDIworks, a virtual desktop software provider with history rich in centralized computing, has introduced VDIworks2Go. This latest software solution is designed to help the mobile workforce to capitalize on the use of virtual desktops.
VDIworks2Go enables workers to access a centralized virtual desktop from their laptop. Such functionality allows these mobile workers to fully benefit from the security, total cost of ownership and management advantages presented by a centralized desktop computing infrastructure on the go.
With VDIworks2Go, users no longer are encumbered with inherent challenges in other virtual desktop approaches as this solution caters specifically to the mobile user, according to Amir Husain, president and CEO of VDIworks.
“With ‘hosted VDI,’ the moment the network connection is lost the user’s ability to work is interrupted. With ‘endpoint virtualization,’ a virtual machine always runs on the user’s device even when far more powerful datacenter resources could be used. VDIworks2go provides the benefits of centralized virtual desktops while still allowing end users to disconnect from that infrastructure,” said Husain in a Monday statement.
